How Our Lab Testing Works

Clients can easily purchase their lab panels on our website and complete a basic intake form, along with signing the necessary consents. After reviewing the intake form and consents, our staff will order the lab script and email it to the client. Once the script is received, clients can schedule an appointment for their labs to be drawn either at our office or at a partnered Labcorp location. Lab results typically take around 24 hours to process, and once available, our dedicated providers will interpret the results. The findings, along with any applicable clinic suggestions, will be emailed to the client. The overall turnaround time for receiving results is typically 3-5 business days.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • How often should I get my blood drawn?

Our team recommends having blood work done every 6-12 months as part of routine check-ups. For individuals engaged in extreme athletic activities, such as bodybuilding, we advise more frequent testing, typically every 3-6 months, to ensure that you are performing at optimal health and to identify any potential issues that could impact your performance.

  • Is the blood draw painful?

While some people may feel slight discomfort, the procedure is generally well-tolerated. If you’re anxious about the draw, let our technician know, and they can help make you more comfortable.

  • Do I need to fast before my blood draw?

Some tests require fasting, such as cholesterol or blood glucose levels, while others don’t. We’ll provide specific instructions based on the tests ordered.

  • How long does it take?

The actual blood draw is quick, usually taking just a few minutes. The process can take a little longer if you're having multiple tests done, but it’s still generally very fast.

  • What if I have questions about my results?

Our dedicated team will review your results and provide you with an interpretation. If you have questions, we are here to help clarify anything or offer recommendations based on the findings. We highly recommend taking your results to your primary care physician (PCP) to seek further guidance and care.

  • What happens after my blood is drawn?

After your blood is collected, it is sent to the lab for analysis. You can go about your day as normal unless specific instructions were provided, such as resting after certain tests.

  • How long does it take to get my lab results?

Most lab results take around 24-48 hours to process. Once the results are available, they will be reviewed by your technician, and you will receive them within 3-5 business days.

  • How can my diet or lifestyle impact the accuracy of the results?

Diet, exercise, and hydration can all influence lab results. For example, fasting before a blood draw is crucial for accurate glucose and cholesterol testing because eating can temporarily raise your blood sugar or triglyceride levels. Alcohol, caffeine, and even heavy physical activity right before a blood draw can skew certain results. It's essential to follow the preparation guidelines provided to ensure accurate readings.

  • Can I have multiple tests done at once?

Yes, multiple tests can often be done at the same time, and it’s very common to order a panel of tests based on your specific health needs or concerns. Whether it’s a routine check-up or a specific investigation, blood can be drawn for several tests at once. However, certain tests may require different preparations (like fasting or medication adjustments), so it's important to clarify all instructions with your technician before the appointment.
